You could also try <strong><em>potaje de casta\u00f1as,<\/em><\/strong> a dessert made from chestnuts, water and sugar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"creados-linea wp-block-heading\"><strong>History<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The origins of Bubi\u00f3n are thought to date back to the Roman era, as in the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century the remains of some burial sites from this civilisation were found, however it was under Arab rule that it enjoyed its highest point. From the 8<sup>th<\/sup> century onwards, this village was the head of the administrative district known as La Taha de Poqueira, which included the villages of Capileira, Pampaneira, Bubi\u00f3n itself, and the settlement of Alguastar, which has since disappeared. In the 16<sup>th<\/sup> century it lent its support to Ab\u00e9n Humeya in his fight against the oppression of the Moriscos. After this civilisation was defeated and expelled, the town was repopulated by colonists from other parts of the Kingdom. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proof of the antiquity of the settlement is provided by the existence of two interesting archaeological sites, called La Fundici\u00f3n and Alto del Pueblo, both of which are linked to the processing of ore for the extraction of iron, and are located in the outskirts of Bubi\u00f3n.
